By using DaRT, you can recover end-user computers that have become unusable, diagnose probable causes of issues, and quickly repair unbootable or locked-out computers. If I run a DIR, it says 30,466,048 bytes free. Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset (DaRT) 7 lets you diagnose and repair a computer that cannot be started or that has problems starting as expected. I'll just put a 50 Mb dummy-file on the drive, and delete it before I run the application I need, that should give me about 80 Mb free space. Using this you can access a remote computer even while it is in Windows PE. One of the new features in DaRT 7 is especially useful: remote control. My problem is this: I want to run an application in the DaRT environment, and it requires 60 Mb free diskspace, and it checks before it does anything, exiting if not enough space is availableīut no matter how much/little content I put on the X-drive (in the boot.wim-file) it ALWAYS seems to have exactly 30,466,048 bytes free. While you will typically see DaRT positioned as more of a recovery tool, you can probably see the diagnostics benefits too, using the provided tools to inspect the current computer. (And yes, I'm licensed to use it, I work for a semi-big company )

The DaRT 7.0, DaRT 8.0 and DaRt 8.1, Remote Connection Viewers require Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 operating systems respectively, while the DaRT 10 Remote Connection Viewer requires. I'm working on modifying the DaRT bootable USB disk. DaRT 10 enables a help desk worker to connect to a DaRT 10 computer by using either the DaRT 7.0, DaRT 8.0, DaRt 8.1, or DaRT 10 Remote Connection Viewer.
